January 2013

January was packed full of sporting events for Aiden and another birthday, Evan turned 2!!  We signed Aiden up for wrestling this year.  It actually started in November and ended in Feb.  They had practices every week and it was up to us what tournaments we wanted to have him wrestle in.  Since he is so young and this was his first year, we only did two.  In addition to that, he started basketball in Jan. and that went for 6 weeks.  It was fun watching 5 and 6 years old dribble the ball for the first time and remembering what hoop was there's, haha!

Hard to see, but he is on top:)

Catholic schools week at Aiden's school, bring a parent to lunch...so glad Aaron could come:)

I was so glad a friend could watch the two little ones so I could go too, it was nice to spend that time with just Aiden!

Happy Birthday!

He loves motorcycles, trucks, .....

and trains! (choo choo is what he calls them:))

Winter Fun!

The kids couldn't be more excited about snow this year.  Aiden has experienced one Iowa winter, but it was when he was 18 months and I don't think he remembers much of it!  So they couldn't wait to play in the snow.  The first big snow came in the middle of December.  They had a blast!  We've been out a few times, sledding and building snowmen.  We have a hill on the side of our house to our back yard that is actually the perfect sledding hill:) (not fun to mow in the summer, but it has it's advantages in winter!)

First time in snow!

We had hot chocolate after we came in (I remeber always doing this as a kid:)) and Evan thought he was pretty big stuff drinking out of a mug like the big kids!

All smiles!

First snowman:)

Christmas(es)!

Being half way across the country for the past 7 years, it's been hard to make it to all our family Christmases.  We've gotten used to it and are happy with anytime around the holidays with family.  But this year was our first year back and our opportunity to see everyone, whom we haven't seen in years.  The festivities started off with our small family.  We wanted Santa to come to our house for the kids, so we had our Christmas a little early.  Then we headed to my parents first.  We made it to my mom's side of the family Christmas.  Then we celebrated Christmas Eve and Day with my immediate family.  Then we celebrated with my Dad's side of the family, which is the annual trip to a rec center with a pool and annual basketball game, always fun:)  We then headed down to Kansas to celebrate with Aaron's Mom and Dad.  It was so great to see everyone, but next year we might have to cut back on the traveling.  It took a toll on the kids as well and Mom and Dad:)!

Santa came to our house first!

Now Dad gets to put all the toys together, hehe:)

Getting Ready for Christmas!

I didn't take many pics for the month of November.  I guess it went kinda fast.  I celebrated my 31st birthday right before Thanksgiving, and we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family for the first time in years, so that was nice:)  We started off the month of Dec. with Olivia turning 3!  Can't believe she's turning into a little girl...so precious!  Next we got our tree put up and put up lights on the outside of our house for the first time, so that was exciting:)

Helping make her cake, she loves to help me in the kitchen!

Our 3 year old!

Evan got to help put the angel up this year:)

October 2013

We started October off with a late Anniversary trip to Vegas.  Dropped the kiddos off with my parents and were kid free for 3 days!  We love Vegas and the tickets were pretty cheap:)  No big winnings, but it was such a great trip!  Halloween was pretty fun this year.  The kids didn't get too scared of the older kid's costumes and made it to most of the houses on our block (it was incredibly cold and windy that night!).  Aiden was a Broncos football player, Olivia was Cinderella, and Evan was Blue the dog from Blue's Clues, so cute!  Aiden also finished with soccer and started flag football.  I think he was a little disappointed when he found out it wasn't tackle football, but he enjoyed running around with his friends:)!

Out to dinner:)

Caught a show in Vegas, this was Holly Madison's last show, so I was glad we were able to see her...I'm a sucker for reality T.V. and used to watch her show:)

No big winners, but it was fun:)

Playing in the Fall leaves:)

Carving pumpkins!

Painting was a little easier for them:)

Cuties:)

Blue's leading the pack, haha!

Flag football!

September 2013

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted anything!!  Guess with being close to family, we see them quite often and it just doesn't dawn on me to post pictures more often!  So I'll try to stay with it now:)  The first part of September, Aaron's mom and step-dad came to visit us.  They wanted to see the new home and Ray helped Aaron re-do our sun room.  It was great to see them and was nice to get the help.  The other thing that month was Aiden started soccer for the first time.  It was fun watching 5 and 6 year olds run the soccer field and occasionally kick the ball, sometimes in the other team's goal, lol!  Overall, he enjoyed it and learned the beginning rules of soccer!

Grandma tell one of her stories, I think this one was Little Red Riding Hood:)
