Robinson's Visit!!!!

Last week, my sister, Michelle, and her hubby, Jeff, and 2 kiddos, Ethan & Emma, came out to visit us!  We have been looking forward to this since the minute they booked their tickets.  They were here Sat. to Sat., and the weather was great!  A little cool at the beach, but for the most part nice and sunny!  We went to the La Jolla coves to see the sea lions, the San Diego Zoo, beach, a Marine ceremony at Aaron's work, and just hung out.  Unfortunately, starting on Wed. we all started getting queasy stomachs and by Thursday night, Michelle, Jeff and Emma had the flu!  It was a bummer, we planned to go to Sea World on Friday, but just couldn't make it.  Luckily they were better by Sat. morning for their flight, that would have been awful to be sick on the plane!  We had a great time and miss them already!
Ethan fascinated with Aaron's sword.

On Sunday, we went to the La Jolla coves (right by San Diego) and the seals and sea lions just lay by the shore.

I had the stroller with Evan so I couldn't get down to the beach, so Shell took Olivia.  It was cloudy and cold by the time we got to the coast, but that didn't bother the kids...they took their shoes off right away and dipped their feet in!

The Robinson's

Another beach down the way, it had stairs to get down to it, so Olivia, Evan and I just stayed at the top and watched.

That night we came back and grilled out and let the kids jump on the bounce house...Ethan and Aiden had a blast wrestling and tackling, definitely wore them out!

Monday we headed to the zoo.  We bought season passes (which if you go twice it's paid for, so totally worth it!) and had guest passes so it was a cheap trip!  Aaron had to work but we managed to have fun:)

Jeff and the kids waiting for the cheetah.

"Resting" their feet...they did actually do a lot of walking and only when it was lunch time did they start to complain!

Elephants are so neat!  Emma wanted to see these the most:)

Big, tough rhino!

Checking out the giraffes:)

Not a very good picture but had to post this lion....we walk up and hear people saying "he's going to puke", we look at the lion and he does look like he's about to, so Michelle and I walk away...Ethan and Jeff, however, decide to stay and two seconds later the lion throws up!  Ethan thought it was the coolest thing and it's the first thing he tells you about if you ask him about the zoo, gross...LOL!!!

Taking another "rest":)

Cute family pic!

Tuesday afternoon we went to the beach.  And like the La Jolla coves, it was sunny at home and as soon as we get to the coast it was cloudy and cool.  It's what they call "June Gloom", the marine layer just stays over the water by the coast usually for the morning and off/on in the afternoons.  We live about 30 minutes from the beach and you just never know how different the weather will be!  But they still managed to have fun, and Ethan and Jeff did get in the water.

Emma & Olivia liked playing in the sand:)

And this is where we stayed, Evan in his car seat and Aiden laid on the blanket because his tummy started to hurt:(

Wednesday morning, we went to base to watch a Change of Command ceremony that Aaron was marching in.

Love this pic!

That night, when we were getting dinner ready, Evan just couldn't hang anymore and fell asleep in Shell's arms amongst all the chaos!

Thursday afternoon, Aaron was able to get off work, so he and Jeff took the boys (Ethan and Aiden) fishing on the ocean.  They rented a boat on base and just stayed by the harbor.  Don't think they caught anything but they had fun!

Ethan and Jeffro

Friday afternoon, everyone was doing better from the flu, so we took them out to shoot rockets.  They loved it!

Trying to figure out whose turn it is to push the button to launch the rocket:)

Friday night we decided to do one last fun thing and take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese  I think Ethan's been once and Emma had never been, so it was fun.  They had a great time!

Horsey ride time!

Love her pig tails....giddy up!

Friday night after we got back from Chuck E. Cheese, we realized we hadn't gotten a picture of all the kids...so this was our attempt after baths and p.j.'s on...haha!

Love this!  Evan looks a lot like Ethan did at this age, we got out some pictures I had and it was just crazy how much they look alike!

We had so much fun while they were here, wish they didn't get sick, but glad they came and wish we lived closer!!
