Olivia's new accessory!
This past month has been a busy month! Missed posting about Olivia's 6th month and now she is 7 months! She is doing great, rolling everywhere, on the verge of crawling, eating baby food, babbling up a storm, and has her two bottom teeth:) Also the latest addition to her is her DOC Band. Back when she was 2 months old the pediatrician noticed her back of her head being a little flat and told us to do more tummy time....by 5 months it still wasn't better so they referred us to Cranial Technologies. They said her head is more flat than normal: medical term, she has Brachycephaly. They recommended a DOC Band to help shape her head to a more normal head shape. So this whole month we've been back and forth with appt. and fittings. We finally got it last Friday. The first few days we took it off every 3 to 4 hours to check and make sure it wasn't rubbing anywhere and to give her a bit of a break to work up to 23 hours straight. The band fit great and no problems, so we are 23 hours on (sleeping and all) and one hour off to clean both her and the band. So far smooth sailing. It is very light weight but she does sweat in it, poor thing. She will wear it approx. 12-14 weeks. Hope it goes fast!!! I hope to decorate the band soon:)

Hi Emily,
ReplyDeleteAngie passed this on to me. My boys had these too. I hated it at first, but in the end it went by pretty quick and I barely remember them having them now. They would sweat really bad too. Actually if she is starting to crawl it is a great time to have it. The boys started crawling right about when they were getting them off and I don't know how many times they would fall and bump their heads and I sorta wished they still had the caps!
